Located just outside Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland, the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel offers a secluded sanctuary tucked among pine trees, where modern glass-fronted suites appear to float above the snow or forest floor.   Its architectural concept draws from the shapes of pine cones and forest forms the buildings are clad in shingles and perched on stilts, blending gently into the slope.

• Arctic GlassHouse Suites: a more expansive design, often with sauna, kitchenette, or interconnecting options for families.  

• Hidden Arctic Cloud Villas: a more distant, private villa experience situated ~20 km away in a pure forest area, offering solitude and deeper immersion in nature.  

Many suites are interconnectable to form family accommodations.  

Design Philosophy & Connection to Nature

The hotel’s design is minimalist, natural, and sensitive to its surroundings. Interiors make use of warm woods, neutral tones, and simple textures to evoke a calm, nest-like comfort. Lighting is thoughtfully managed to reduce ambient glow so that visitors’ eyes adjust to the darkness outside enhancing the chances of seeing the Northern Lights. 

The suites’ construction was done off-site and installed with minimal disturbance to the forest, ensuring ecological care and visual harmony.  

Culinary & Communal Spaces

At its heart is Rakas Restaurant & Bar, located in the main building. Culinary concepts emphasize local Arctic ingredients, reindeer, fish, berries, prepared with a modern twist.  The fireplace ambiance, pine-cone inspired lamps, and forest views make the dining experience part of the story. 

Common areas include lounges and gathering spaces that invite quiet reflection of the surroundings.
